This beautiful solid wood folding game board and backgammon case is from around the very early 20th century and looks as though it would have been hand-assembled with lovely interlocking wooden shafts on all the corners. The interior of the case has the green felt backgammon base and still has the two lovely smooth olive wood dice shakers, the original bone dice and most of the backgammon tiles (there are a few pieces missing and some of those present are replacements). The case closes with two small simple hook closures.

Given the size of the game board, it has the advantage of doubling up a small games table!

CONDITION :
Good antique condition. The case is overall worn from use and age with marks, some faint staining and two paint drops which, as I don't have paint remover have not attempted to dissolve etc and tonnes of that delightful antique charm of naturally aged wooden items. The backgammon felting is worn with some of the pointers being virtually invisible now.
