The pen is made using an exceptional piece of rare Himalayan Spruce burl that is full of figure and beautiful golden shimmer.

Practical enough to be used every day with a classic popular, elegant, high quality feel. The pen tip and end features vertical recesses that provide an easy grip. The pen clip on this pen kit is crafted from raw 303 Stainless Steel and features a teardrop style form. While the pen mechanism uses an ultra-reliable, 100 percent all metal Schmidt click mechanism with smooth, quiet performance. Schmidt Mechanism is precision engineered in Germany.

The Himalayan Spruce burl pen you are viewing has been hand crafted with great attention and care to bring out the beauty of the grain and the colors in the wood. It has been sanded to 12,000 grit, and then had boiled linseed oil rubbed into the bare wood to seal it, and bring out the beauty of the grain. The finish is liquid acrylic, this finish is very difficult to get right, but creates a finish that is very hard and looks like a sheet of glass over the wood; It will not wear off like a friction polish or wax finish.

All of the pens I create take standard refills, easily found at any office supply store.

As a master pen turner, I do not mass produce my pens and may only make 2 or 3 a month. I carefully select only the very, very best figured, most rare and unique woods to match with only the finest components. I craft my pens to last a lifetime and take pride in each and every one.

After a year of trial and error and experimenting with different techniques, I was able to master the very tricky cyanoacrylate finish and have performed international demonstrations on my techniques. This particular finish is the most difficult and time-consuming to apply. When done correctly, it creates a sheet of glass-like acrylic over the wood that brings another dimension to the color and beauty of the grain, it also protects the wood completely and does not wear off.
