Stunning antique French ceramic tureen and cover which has been made by Longchamp dating from the early 1900's.

This beautiful antique French tureen has been made of white ceramic by Longchamp, decorated with the pattern name of 'Villey'. Complete with it's matching cover this tureen is a lovey shape and size , very short and wide with shapely handles attached to either side of the base and on the top of the cover. Decorated around the outside and across the cover in a repeating pattern of laurel leaf wreaths tied with little ribbon bows in an attractive greeny-blue colour. Marked on the base 'Villey' Longchamp.

Measuring 12 cm high (4 3/4") complete, 24 cm ( 9 1/2") wide across the handles, 18.5 cm (7 1/4") in diameter across the open top.

Weighing 1.140kg unwrapped.

In great condition considering it's age and use ,no cracks to the tureen or lid but a tiny fleabite to the edge of the base and a slight graze to the tip of the cover handle,barely noticeable (see last 2 photographs.

Fabulous French country kitchen tureen which would be great to use or have on display.
