Eva Scheel Of Toronto, 1920's Revival Sautoir Necklace.
This fabulous necklace is deadstock with tags still attached.
Eva Scheel was a designer of costume jewellery from the late 1950's to the 1980's. Her jewellery is scarce and difficult to find, but look what we have here.
A beautiful 1920's revival necklace in flapper style with a modern twist. I am not sure of the age but I would tend to go with the 1950's, based on the design as her designs became more brutalist in her later designs. The label is also an earlier version.
Black glass beads in sections, interspersed with graduated gold plated ribbed beads and silver celluloid beads with a smooth finish.
The central tassel is big and gorgeous, the shape reminds me of a jellyfish. The gold plated top is etched with circular engraving as decoration, The beads hang popular down in pairs which are caught together at the bottom with tiny gold beads. It is a bold and unusual take on a flapper necklace. A true collectors item, with its original tag.
