Recent events have made me think a lot about about guns and children. So I came up with this piece, which depicts a mask of a child's face, except that the eyes have been replaced with the butt end of military-grade firearms bullet casings, as though the shells had been inserted directly into the child's eyes. The background is made of sillhouettes of assault rifle ammunitiion in a repeating pattern.
This is an original piece of art, hand pulled from the original, hand carved linoleum block. Print size is 8 x10 inches, paper size is 11 x 14 inches (approximate). Chinese Watercolor is then applied to the ribbon and the shell casings over the eyes. I chose to do Red and Gold/Bronze, but you can order any color you choose. Please specify when ordering. As each print will be hand-colored to order, please note that an extra business day has been added to the shipping prep time.
Linocut Print on Stonehenge Paper using Speedball Water Soluble Ink. Limited Edition of 7 produced. The ink for this print is black, and each print will vary slightly in color and detail. Each piece of paper is hand-torn to preserve the deckled edge. Each copy sold will arrive in mylar packaging (as shown above), numbered and signed by the artist.
