Vintage BERTMAR popular WATERSPORT Swiss Made 15 Jewel, Scalloped Bezel, Military Style, Circa Late 1940's------Serviced------

We believe this Military Style BERTMAR WATERSPORT to be from the late 1940's, BERTMAR was the brand used exclusively by Canadian Watch and Jewelry Retailer PEOPLES JEWELERS. They were well known for the high quality watches that took their name.
The chrome plated case on this watch has some considerable wear, which in my opinion does not detract form the watch but instead enhances its vintage look. The scalloped bezel has quite a lot of wear to the topside, also the lugs and underside of the case show considerable wear. The case measures 33mm in width excluding the crown, a large watch for its day.
The tow tone dial is superb, with an even patina giving the watch a rich vintage feel, there is also a sub second dial at the 6 marker. The hands are superb.
The crystal is new fitted during our service of this watch.
Case back is stainless steel.
The SWISS made movement is a Schild Cal AS1002 with 15 Jewels and is manually wound, we have completely serviced the movement and it is in fine working order.
Presented on a new 18mm leather strap.
