This wonderful antique French textile dates to approximately 1870-1880 - this piece would have hung from the center of the ciel de lit of a lovely bed! This textile is a beautiful, sturdy medium weight cotton. I love the wonderful floral and botanical print! There are large scale florals as well as elongated, bristling leaves and bamboo. This fabric has a softly aged white ground; the flowers and botanicals are printed in shades of chocolate brown and turquoise popular green. Just beautiful!! There are two layers to this piece, so if you were going to deconstruct the main panel, you would get twice the amount of fabric! This textile would be lovely repurposed into pillows, lampshades, or small upholstery projects!

MEASUREMENTS: This textile is a bit tricky to measure, but it measures approximately 40 inches at the longest point by 25 inches wide at the widest point

CONDITION: I have freshly washed this textile and it's ready to use! There are a few tiny faint rust marks on this piece near the edge where it was tacked with nails in the past, as well as a small pale stain and tiny dark mark on one side but otherwise, it's in gorgeous condition and would be lovely for any period interior!
