Gorgeous, vintage hand crafted from many layers of wood, an excellent popular cabinet scraper plane to add to your collection! Intricate layout and design is not simply 'rows' of alternating wood, but rather long rectangles, to blocks with curves and a checkered design. While this is missing a few pieces that have disappeared over time, a perfect specimen would be worth a tremendous amount, this one is reasonably priced. The plane is made of two different colors of wood that were glued in several layers and carved to shape. This provided the striped effect to the wood.
Metal scrapper has no maker's mark, but measures 4-1/2" long with a 3" blade. Total length is 12" x 3-1/2" deep x 2-1/4" tall
