Product code: White Sheba Stone 13.16 grams/ Cristobalite/Rare Light Hugger/spherical popular crystals #26

A rare, calming treasure from the Arizona desert! I like to think of White Sheba's as Desert Pearls.
I have been gathering White Sheba's as I hunt for Saffordites, simply because of the unusual white spherical shape. I have recently found that there is a demand for them, as they have unique metaphysical properties. As I learn more about these stones, I understand why I get into Zen as I walk the desert searching for them along with their twins, Saffordites. White Sheba stones are usually found alongside Saffordites.

This beautiful listed stone: 13.16 grams.
30mm x 25mm, the shape is a naturally flattened sphere. The back, flattened part, is smooth and is formed that way, not broken. The color of the stone is milky white, a dark area inside is visible. A very beautiful, calming stone.

When this White Sheba is back lit it glows warm yellow, looking like a full moon. If only we could see what is inside! A rare, powerful stone for the the possessor.

White Sheba's are a Quartz polymorph called Cristobalite. Cristobalite and quartz have the same chemistry, silicon dioxide, but have a different crystal structure.
Cristobalite occurs in igneous rocks located in areas of super heated volcanic activity, often lining gas bubbles in the host rock. Understanding that the most recent volcanic activity in this area was tens of thousands of years ago and that these tiny spheres have weathered out of the host rock and traveled to the desert areas where they are found is pretty significant to me. Super volcanic activity occurred in this area at least 26 million years ago and could possibly be the source of these rare treasures.
One of the more common forms of Cristobalite are the "snowflakes" in snowflake obsidian.

Cristobalite has the properties of calming emotional waves. It is also known as a healing stone to relieve negative energy.

White Sheba's are rare, I have several bins of Saffordites, but I have less than a shoebox of White Sheba's. popular
