A Charming decor "woman with bird in her hair" A beautiful mid-century modern "Opaque" hand-painted bowl 73-203 made in Norway 1950's. This delightful vintage Stavangerflint Art Pottery bowl or dish is from the "Opaque" range and features a rounded triangular form with stylized flowers and birds hand-decorated in blue and black on a creamy white matte background.
Waage studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and art Industry in 1943 before pursuing a career as an industrial ceramist. This particular design is illustrated in a comprehensive survey of her work, Inger Waage: Design for Stavangerflint 1953–1979, recently published by Jan Gjerde, Norway
