Popular Engraving The Church of St Pierre, Montmartre Paris, Signed in Pencil by Henri Tourneur C1910, Aquatint

An atmospheric, antique French engraving, or aquatint of Paris and the Church of St Pierre in Montmartre. The aquatint is enclosed in a carved wood, gold painted frame, dating to C1910.

The art work is signed H. Tourneur for Henri Tourneur in pencil at the base. It also has the location of Vieux Montmartre & Eglise St. Pierre (Old Montmartre & St Pierre Church) written in pencil above the artwork.

A beautiful and evocative print of old Montmartre, the frame measures 39.5cms high by 30.5cms wide or 15½” by 12”. The actual aquatint itself is 21cms by 16cms or 8¼” by 6¼”.

The frame is a little chippy in places.

My apologies for some of the shadows on the piece, it is a very dull day and I have taken photographs with and without a light on. In both instances, the glass has shown the reflection, when in fact the artwork is in good condition.
