Published by Lucien Vogel between 1912 and 1925, with an interruption during the great war, the "Gazette du Bon Ton" is a fashion magazine which incorporates an impressive number of stenciled plates and advertising. It deals mainly with fashion but also the art of living and "frivolity" in an elitist and luxurious setting.
A team of young, little-known artists is hired for the illustrations as well as top fashion designers support the project by providing ideas for models that will not always be realized. The magazine was immediately distributed in the USA, which still ensures it international fame today.
Young artists and fashion designers have all become famous and will maintain a certain common artistic line throughout their lives. The graphics used already project us into the popular Art Deco of the 1930s, which is still in its infancy. The quality of the stencils is perfect and they are still collected today.
Marty, Brissaud, Lepape, Barbier, Benito, Brunilleschi, Domergue, Laboureur to name a few, illustrate the creations of Doeuillet, Paquin, Poiret, Worth, Lanvin
We provide high-quality pictures so you can notice each detail of the prints. Please watch them carefully so you won't miss any potential imperfection.
