Rare 1950s modernist sterling silver bird brooch and earring set by the mysterious "heart artist" who worked from famed artist Stella Popowski and Rancho Alegre. You can see Popowski's modernist influence and it is possible it was her design as she was known for such whimsical pieces with simple lines and metal overlay. This beautiful set features sterling on sterling overlay with turquoise stone eyes. All pieces are stamped on back with hallmark - AE inside heart-shaped M and eagle number 23.
