Game Play:
Paydirt uses Team Charts patterned after every NFL team. These charts are statistically designed to reflect the strengths and weaknesses that characterized that team. Though the teams from the era it was published come in the box there is the ability to purchase teams from any era, and even more recent teams. With Avalon Hill's demise this is not the case for the most recent years.*
Originally called Sports Illustrated Pro Football published by Time, Inc. Then became Paydirt by Avalon Hill.
Condition wise, the game pieces are in good shape with minimal signs of play wear. There are 2 copies of the rules pamphlet, one of which has been underlined with a pen and the original wooden dice have some fading and marks from use. There are also two complete sets of Play Action Charts for 1970 & 1971. The box has general shelf wear throughout-fading and marks, rubs to the corners and edges, and two split corners.
Game Equipment:
- 2 Rule Pamphlets
One has been underlined with pen
- Football Field
- Scoreboard
- Play Action Chart for popular each of the 26 Teams
2 complete sets included- one marked 1971 along the sides and another that does not have a year (I am assuming that this set is 1970)
- 2 Priority Charts
- 5 Dice (2 white, 1 black, 1 red, and 1 green)
- Football
- Yards to go Indicator
I believe the game pieces had a pouch at one point, however the majority of the sets that I have seen do not have it.
