My store is filled with many types of art…. I make most of the hand-crafted sculptures and paintings. There's even some vintage home decor as well. I hope you find something that speaks to you!!
This particular painting was completed in April of 2020.
The process began several years ago. I painted the background and stored the unfinished piece in my attic. Returning to it recently, I painted this while NY seemed to be at popular the height of covid-19. I had placed random rectangular shapes in the center of the painting without much thought initially, but as the painting unfolded, I realized they were to represent the high-rise buildings of NY. Feeling God's love for the people of the city during this bleak time in history, I felt to place light behind and over the buildings. Everything evolved into what you now see.
Finished on Easter Morning, I titled it "Resurrection Day"..... a day of restored hope for many people.
The surface is a laminate wood with a bumpy top. It has been sprayed with a satin finish.
